Design Commitment
Commitment to design innovation is particularly strong at Crain. The extent of our commitment is found in the significant resources of time, capital, energy, and attention directed to our design initiatives. The totality of Crain’s design commitment might best be illustrated by the fact that our whole organization actively participates in our ongoing design crusades. We don’t have a separate R & D department. Crain practices continuous success investment. While individual development projects are commenced and concluded, our devotion to Design and Innovation success is constant.

Process
The process of design at Crain is comprehensive. We actually call it our design engine, as our process is in constant use, propelling concept after concept through our system. Our design engine consists of an ambitious and talented Team that is really devoted to success. Always looking for distinguishable improvements, Crain’s team routinely looks beyond industry recommendations, but rather to ultimate requirements. Our designs tend to surprise users with real and advantageous solutions. Crain prefers to drive markets rather than be driven by them. Our design solutions are often disruptive, threatening obsolescence of established and conventional solutions.

Enabling our team, Crain has assembled a nearly seamless network of resources to facilitate our design process. And, most of our design resources are “in-house”, allowing complete control and accelerating delivery. Whether a product or process, our design resources support the entire innovation lifecycle. These lifecycle elements include conceptual development, intellectual property analysis and protection, prototyping, design optimization, primary Manufacturing, secondary production, distribution, user analysis and support, deficiency abatement, opportunity identification, and next-generation creations.

Technology Resources
In order to meet Crain’s design and development requirements, significant technological resources have been deployed. In the concept stage, these technologies include 3-D CAD (computer aided design) and CAM (computer aided manufacture) systems. Crain maintains a research laboratory allowing us the ability to analyze many design aspects ranging from raw materials to completed products. An extensive online patent database is also utilized by Crain.
