Management
Steve
Crain is at the center of and key to the success of Crain Enterprises, Inc.
Being fluent and aggressive in both areas of business and technology, Steve
gives forward vision and guidance to Crain’s team. Following the ownership
consolidation, Steve implemented a massive reorganization of Crain Enterprises,
Inc. The success of this reorganization is evident in the fact that most
of Crain’s accomplishments occurred after the reorganization was complete.
An excellent leader
and accomplished engineer, Steve holds or has patents pending on over
20 separate innovations and received a national award on the development
of a composites manufacturing process. While Steve does not take credit
for all of Crain’s coordinated successes, his leadership has been
central to their occurrences. Steve is active in many facets of technology
and business activities, and is active in many professional organizations.
Following the ownership
consolidation, Rita Crain, Steve’s wife, joined the company as vice-president
in charge of many facets of the company. Rita successfully orchestrated
an overhaul of the materials management, purchasing, and accounting divisions
of Crain, and continues to help Crain operate in the most effective way.
She is very active in our customer service division, as well. Rita has
a well-earned reputation as a tireless worker who gets things accomplished.

Engineering
The
research and development of new products and services at Crain is a major
initiative. Jerry Williamson’s, although he’s turned over
the daily management of the engineering group, focus is now on new products
and new strategic technological opportunities. His focus has enabled Crain
to realize many of the accomplishments that it has seen in recent years.
Tim Moore assumed
the role Chief Engineer in the summer of 2001.
Tim is especially strong in effective project management, and his combination
of foresight and practical knowledge form an important advantage for Crain.
Our engineering group
consists of both university-educated engineers and those trained at Crain.
While maintaining individual accountability, this group functions as a
team, assisting each other as specialized knowledge is required for its
many and diverse activities. Our technology team has well over 300 years
of combined engineering experience, and they are used to setting the standard,
not following it.

Operations
Efficient
management of the operations department has enabled Crain to achieve and
maintain consistent
on-time delivery, dependable quality, mass customization of products, and
the “private labeling” of goods. These successes have translated
into important advantages in Crain’s business position and serve as
an important platform for Crain’s future initiatives.
Our Operations Managers,
Anthony Dover and Jessie Cannon, are no strangers to manufacturing at
Crain Enterprises. They started at Crain as production workers and have
grown as the Company has grown. They are committed to executing Crain's
operations and demonstrating sustained commitment to the value-adding
services we offer our dealer network.

Marketing
& Customer Satisfaction
Exceptional
customer service, over the years, has been abandoned by many, due to developments
in new technology, a desire to cut costs, and a change in the pace at which
business is done, among many other reasons. Crain takes the opposite approach
and treats customer service with the utmost importance. Simply recognizing
the need for an unbeatable combination of exceptional customer service coupled
with excellent products is just one of Crain’s many advantages.
Linda Kekow, our Sales
Manager, is well known and very well respected in the surveying industry.
She has been a fixture at Crain since she began as a factory worker in
1975, and she is a tireless customer advocate, demanding customer satisfaction.
Linda believes a promise to a customer is sacred and a dissatisfied customer
is a crisis.
Jennifer (Crain) Bradshaw,
Steve and Rita’s oldest daughter, joined the company’s newly
created Marketing department in the summer of 2002 upon graduating from
college. The opportunity for success was great at Crain. Jennifer is part
of a team that identifies, plans, and implements many marketing-related
initiatives.

Quality
Crain is well known for its commitment to Total Quality, and
all Crain employees are committed to retaining and improving upon this
position. All of our employees take personal responsibility for the quality
of our products and services.
Anthony
Dover, our Quality Manager, along with the rest of the team, has instituted
many quality techniques, including poke yoke or mistake proofing, visual
management, and kaizen or continuous improvement.
Anthony’s many talents are utilized at Crain. Anthony is responsible
for risk management at Crain, produces many of our graphics, and has participated
in the development of much of Crain’s advertising materials. He
also has led Crain’s initiative into high resolution, digital photography
and images.
